Meiji period (1868 – 1912) painting of river’s edge landscape. A kingfisher sits on an outcrop of rocks with a small fall colored sapling and water grasses bend in the breeze. Rolling hills are in the distance with a full moon rising behind them. Painted in mineral pigments on mulberry paper with gold leaf clouds and a silk brocade border.
